Bedacht packte ich meine Koffer, denn ich wusste, dass ich einen Monat unterwegs sein würde… Immer wieder, wenn ich nervös wurde und drohte dem Erledigungsdrang zu erliegen, holte ich mich bewusst zurück und rief mir ins Gedächtnis, Dinge nicht zu tun, damit sie getan sind, sondern jede Aufgabe bedacht und mit Liebe zu erfüllen… ich habe ja eine vielerprobte Reise Check Liste...

Kurz vor 17 Uhr war ich bereit die 300 km nach Crans-Montana in Angriff zu nehmen. Nach einer fast halbstündigen Fahrt fiel mir ein, dass ich die Autopapiere zu Hause hatte liegen lassen… das hiess also umkehren… Aber sehr wahrscheinlich hatte auch dies seine Gründe: Erstens, dass ich die Papiere dabei hatte (und das ist im Ausland sicherlich von Vorteil!) und zweitens, der hektische Abendverkehr war schon fast vorüber, bis ich in Luzern auf der Autobahn war. : )

 

Carefully I packed my luggage knowing that I would be on the road for a month... Now and again, when I started to get nervous and was at risk of succumbing to the urge of simply settling things, I deliberately reminded myself not to do things simply because they have to be done, but to fulfill each task wisely and with love... in fact I have a well-tested travel check list!

 

Shortly before 5 pm I was ready to attack the 300 km to Crans-Montana. After nearly half an hour’s drive I realized, that I had left the car papers at home... that consequently meant to turn back... But very likely there were reasons for it: Firstly, I had the car papers with me (and that certainly is of advantage driving abroad!) and secondly, until I entered the highway in Lucerne the hectic evening traffic was almost over. : )

Nach einer wunderschönen Fahrt über den Brünig, entlang dem Brienzer- und Thunersee und per Autoverlad in Kandersteg nach Goppenstein im Wallis, kam ich um 20:30 Uhr  im Grand Hotel du Golf & Palace in Crans-Montana (www.ghgp.ch) an. Hier auf 1‘500 m über Meer war es mindestens 5 Grad kühler als im heissen Tal (35 Grad - gerade hatte die Hitzewelle in der Schweiz begonnen, die eine Woche andauern würde…) - herrlich!

 

After a beautiful drive over the Brünig pass, along Lake Brienz and Lake Thun and via car shuttle train from Kandersteg to Goppenstein in the canton of Valais, I arrived at the Grand Hotel du Golf & Palace in Crans-Montana (www.ghgp.ch) at 8:30 pm. Here at 1,500 meters above sea level it was at least 5 degrees cooler than in the hot valleys, where it presently was 35 centigrade (the heat wave in Switzerland had just started and would last for a whole week...) - great!

Wie jedes Jahr waren wir ans IGTO (International Golf Trophy for Officers) eingeladen, dieses Jahr wieder in Crans-Montana. Ich bin immer gerne dabei, obwohl ich mich stets noch weigere Turniere zu spielen… Das ist hier aber kein Problem: Ich spielte auf dem Jack Nicklaus Platz (9-Loch) an einem 4-er Scramble mit und den 18-Loch Severiano Ballesteros spielte ich ausser Konkurrenz! : ))

Like every year, we were invited to the IGTO (International Golf Trophy for Officers), this year in Crans-Montana. I always liked this event, even though I still refuse to play tournaments... But this is not a problem here: I participated in a 4-person scramble on the Jack Nicklaus course (9 holes) and on the 18-hole Severiano Ballesteros I played out of competition! : ))
